Cougars Dominate Lynx for Third Straight Victory

Frederick Community College men's soccer tallied its fourth win of the season on Tuesday afternoon, rolling to a 5-0 win over Carroll Community College at home. The Cougars controlled possession from the opening whistle, breaking through just before halftime when Samuel Mendez finished a pass from Cullen Duggan in the 41st minute to give Frederick the lead.

The second half was all Cougars as Omar Aguilar struck twice within three minutes, both assisted by Jason Shairzad, to put the game firmly out of reach. Praise Ngoma added another in the 80th minute on a setup from Mendez, and freshman Kameron Heyliger capped the scoring late with his first goal of the season.

Goalkeeper Thomas McCaffery earned the shutout in net as the Cougars held the Lynx to just one shot on goal. The win lifts Frederick to 4-8-1 on the season and marks their third straight victory.

The Cougars will look to carry their momentum into the next match when they travel to face CCBC Catonsville Cardinals on Thursday, October 9, at 5:00 PM.
