Cougars Secure Second Straight Win in 2-1 Victory Over Riverhawks

Frederick Community College men's soccer made the most of its chances in the first half and held strong late to defeat Anne Arundel Community College 2-1 at home. The Cougars struck quickly in the first half as Omar Aguilar buried a header in the 6th minute off a set piece service from Andrew Price to put Frederick in front.

FCC doubled the lead in the 31st minute when Samuel Mendez buried a shot set up by Praise Ngoma. The defense stayed organized as the Riverhawks pushed in the second half, and goalkeeper Casey Cutshall came up with a key save. Anne Arundel managed to pull one back in the closing minute, but the Cougars closed out the win to improve to 3-8-1 on the season.

Frederick will look to continue its momentum at home when they hosts Carroll Community College on Tuesday, October 7, at 4:30 PM.
