KEYSER, WV. - FCC women's basketball hit the road for their final regular season contest against Potomac State College of WVU on Saturday afternoon.

What a difference twenty minutes of basketball can make! The Cougars would head into the locker room after 20 minutes of play, trailing 49-46. FCC would tighten up the defense out of the locker room allowing just 18 points in the final 20 minutes of action.

The Cougars would run away in the second half, defeating the Catamounts by the score of 91-67. The Cougars are 16-11 on the season overall and sit at 6-2 in Region XX D2 play. FCC will take on ACM on Thursday (3/8) in first round action of Region XX D2 tourney. Tip-off is set for 4:00 P.M. at Cecil College.

FCC registered four players in doubles figures. Sophomore guard Aniss Grant led the way with 25 points. Jone Ayers netted 19 points as teammates Dajah Gee and Kiara Campozano registered 18 and 15 points. Grant and Campozano recorded double-doubles by pulling down 10 rebounds each. Gee, as she has done all season, knows the importance of the extra pass in the FCC offense, dishing out nine assists.

Congratulations to FCC Head Coach Sheldon Henry and the FCC women's basketball team. Coach Henry is in his second year at the helm of the women's basketball program. Hired just two months before the start of the 2016-17 season, FCC would record two wins on the season. The Cougars recorded 16 wins this year and look to make some noise in next week's Region XX D2 tourney.
