Frederick Holds Off Central Penn to Improve to 9-6

Frederick Community College Cougars men's basketball earned a solid 69–58 home victory over Central Penn College Knights on Wednesday night, improving the Cougars' record to 9-6 on the season. Frederick set the tone early, taking a slim 34–31 advantage into halftime before using a stronger second half to create separation and close out the win.

The Cougars were led by an efficient scoring night from Gabriel Jones, who poured in a game-high 21 points while knocking down five three-pointers to spark Frederick's offense. Kylan Johnson added 12 points and five assists, providing steady leadership in the backcourt, while Thierry Patchou controlled the paint with a dominant rebounding performance, pulling down 16 boards to go along with 10 points. Dayvon Dorsey came off the bench to make a major impact, posting a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds, giving Frederick a significant edge on the glass.

The Cougars collected 57 total rebounds and generated second-chance opportunities throughout the night. Despite shooting struggles from the floor, Frederick's defensive effort and work on the boards limited Central Penn's momentum, particularly in the second half when the Cougars outscored the Knights 35–27. The balanced contributions and physical play allowed Frederick to maintain control down the stretch and secure the home victory.

Frederick will look to build on this performance as the Cougars head back on the road for their next contest, traveling to face Hagerstown Community College on Saturday, January 17, with tipoff scheduled for 4 PM.
