Frederick Falls to Allegany in Tough Home Battle
Frederick Community College couldn't overcome a slow start on Saturday, falling 87-68 to Allegany College of Maryland in their ninth game of the season.
The Cougars trailed 37-25 at halftime and struggled to contain Allegany's balanced attack, which shot 42.9 percent from the field and bested the Cougars on the boards 48 to 41.
Frederick's Gabriel Jones paced the offense with 17 points and six rebounds, and Kylan Johnson contributed 11 points and five assists. Despite a late push in the second half, the Cougars couldn't close the gap, shooting just 33.8 percent overall and 29.6 percent from beyond the arc.
The loss drops Frederick to 4-5 on the season. The Cougars will look to bounce back on the road against Anne Arundel Community College on December 10 at 7 PM.
