Frederick Storms Back to Defeat Patrick Henry in Second-Half Surge

Frederick Community College Cougars men's basketball delivered an electrifying comeback on November 8, rallying from a 10-point halftime deficit to beat Patrick Henry College 78-70 at home. The Cougars, now 1-1 on the season, showed resilience in the second half, outscoring the Sentinels 51-33 to secure the win.

Patrick Henry controlled the first half behind shooting 40 percent from the field and scoring 40% from the field in the first frame to dominate early, and took a 37-27 lead into the break. But Frederick flipped the script after halftime, attacking the rim and tightening up defensively.

Gabriel Jones was the catalyst for the Cougars, pouring in 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting, including four three-pointers. Kylan Johnson added 20 points and five assists, while Bryson Boyd provided an efficient 15 points and seven rebounds. Frederick shot 86 percent from the line and matched Patrick Henry on the boards, a key factor in the turnaround. The Cougars also limited turnovers and converted clutch free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

With 27 regular-season games remaining, Frederick will look to keep the momentum rolling when they host Penn State York on November 12 at 7 PM.
