North East, MD. – The No. 17 Frederick Community College men's basketball team saw their season come to an end after losing to Garrett College by the score of 76-60 in the Region XX D2 Tournament. FCC finishes the season with an overall record of 22-6.
The Cougars fell behind early and were not able to recover. FCC went seven minutes and thirty seconds in the first half without scoring a point. The Lakers would take a 37-20 advantage into the locker room.
Out of the locker room, the Cougars would cut the deficit to just nine points (37-28) after a Chris Knight layup at the 17:25 mark, however, that was the closest FCC would get.
Keon Claiborne led FCC with 15 points on 5-of-11 from the field. Teammate Dashon Bell poured in 14 points, connecting on 5-of-12 shots.
Congratulations to FCC Head Coach Emonte Hill and the men's basketball team on a sensational season.
