Men's Basketball Sees 14 Game Winning Streak Come to an End

CUMBERLAND, MD - It was a battle of the heavyweights on Saturday afternoon as the #7 NJCAA D2 Frederick Community College Cougars traveled to #24 D1 Allegany College of Maryland in men's hoops action.

FCC Head Coach Emonte Hill knew his squad was going to have to play a mistake-free game against a very talented Allegany team. The entire game was back-and-forth, seeing each team build a lead of eight points on multiple occasions. FCC took a 36-35 advantage into halftime and built a lead of 55-48 in the second half. However, when the final horn sounded, Allegany would defeat FCC by the score of, 82-73.

With the loss, FCC sees their 14 game win streak snapped. The Cougars are now 19-3 on the season, including a record of 10-2 in conference play. More importantly, FCC still boasts a record of 5-0 in Region XX action and that is the most important record when it comes down to postseason discussion. Allegany improves to 21-2 on the season, including 11-2 in MD JUCO play.

FCC will return to action on Wednesday (2/7) when they travel to Howard Community College to take on the Dragons. Tip-off is set for 7:00 P.M.
