Cougars’ Lone Goal Not Enough in Road Loss at College of Southern Maryland
Frederick Community College Cougars women's soccer team continued its road stretch on Tuesday afternoon, falling 10-1 to the College of Southern Maryland in La Plata. The Hawks struck early and often, building a 7-1 lead by halftime before adding three more goals in the second half to put the match out of reach.
Alyssa Pizer provided the lone highlight for the Cougars, scoring in the 33rd minute off a setup from Raven Miller to break through the Hawks' defense. In goal, Gabriella Lindblade battled to keep FCC in the game, facing 32 shots and making nine saves over 70 minutes of play.
With the loss, the Cougars drop to 1-4 on the season but have an opportunity to regroup as FCC returns home on Thursday, September 25 to host Prince George's Community College at 2:00 PM.
