Cougars Fall on the Road by CCBC Essex

Frederick Community College Cougars women's soccer team endured a difficult night on the road Thursday, falling 10-0 to CCBC Essex at the Essex Stadium. The Cougars, coming off their home opener earlier in the week, found themselves under heavy pressure from the opening whistle as the Knights struck six times in the first half to seize control. CCBC Essex added four more goals in the second half to close out the scoring.

Despite the result, goalkeeper Maria Soriano turned in a gritty performance in net, facing 39 total shots and recording eight saves in 70 minutes of action. Reese Hauptman produced Frederick's lone shot of the night, and the Cougars continued to battle until the final whistle, gaining valuable experience against one of the region's more aggressive attacking sides.

The loss drops Frederick to 1-2 on the season with nine regular-season games still to play. The Cougars will look to regroup when they travel to face Garrett College on Tuesday, September 16 at 3:00 PM.
