Frederick Dominates on the Road at Westmoreland 69-39
Frederick Community College women's basketball delivered one of its most complete performances of the season on February 14, rolling past Westmoreland County Community College, 69–39. The Cougars set the tone early with a 21–15 first quarter and steadily widened the gap in each period, using defensive pressure and balanced scoring to pull away. A dominant third quarter, where Frederick outscored Westmoreland 24–6, put the game firmly out of reach.
Trinity Lindblade led the way, scoring 31 points to go along with seven assists, six rebounds, and three steals while playing all 40 minutes. Chebet Nganga anchored the paint with 10 points and 12 rebounds, providing consistent interior presence on both ends. Off the bench, Taliyah Alexander made a major impact with nine points, seven assists, and strong defensive energy, while Maylee Regan added 10 points and seven rebounds to help Frederick control the glass. As a team, the Cougars forced 12 turnovers, recorded 24 assists, and held Westmoreland to just 23.5 percent shooting from the field, turning defense into offense throughout the afternoon.
The win moves Frederick to 7–12 overall and 4–8 in Region 20 Division II play. Frederick will return home for its final home game on Saturday, February 21, at 12 PM against the Prince George's Community College Owls. The game will also serve as Sophomore Day, giving the Cougars an opportunity to honor their sophomore class as they look to finish the season strong at home.
