Frederick Pushes Harford to the Wire in Narrow Home Loss

Frederick Community College Cougars women's basketball delivered a strong, competitive effort Friday afternoon but came up just short in a 71–67 loss to Harford Community College at home. Facing a Region 20 Division I opponent, the Cougars battled through all four quarters and had late opportunities before Harford held on in the final minutes. With the result, Frederick moves to 6-9 on the season.

The Cougars were led by an outstanding performance from Trinity Lindblade, who finished with a game-high 26 points and knocked down six three-pointers, keeping Frederick within striking distance throughout the contest. Heaven Murray added 18 points and six assists, consistently pushing the tempo and creating scoring chances, while Maylee Regan was efficient inside with 13 points and seven rebounds. Chebet Nganga contributed four points and seven rebounds.

After trailing 37–35 at halftime, Frederick continued to trade baskets with the Fighting Owls in the second half. The Cougars shot 45% from beyond the arc and moved the ball well, recording 16 assists, but Harford's rebounding edge and timely scoring proved to be the difference.

Frederick will look to bounce back in its next outing when the Cougars host Cecil College on Wednesday, February 4, with tipoff scheduled for 5 PM.
