Frederick Falls Short in Road Battle Against CCBC Catonsville

Frederick Community College Cougars women's basketball put up a strong fight on the road but came up short against CCBC Catonsville, falling 77-67 in a Region 20 matchup on December 17. The Cougars struggled early, trailing 24-11 after the first quarter, but clawed back with balanced scoring in the second and third periods to keep the contest within reach. A late surge in the fourth quarter wasn't enough to overcome the early deficit.

Trinity Lindblade led the way for Frederick with an impressive 27-point performance, knocking down five three-pointers and playing all 40 minutes. Heaven Murray added 13 points and four steals, while Taliyah Alexander chipped in 10 points and six rebounds. Chebet Nganga anchored the paint with 11 boards, helping Frederick win key possessions down the stretch. Despite shooting nearly 40% from the field, the Cougars couldn't contain Catonsville's inside presence, as the Cardinals dominated the glass and converted second-chance opportunities.

To close out the year, Frederick moves to 5-8 overall and 3-6 in Region 20 DII play. The Cougars will look to bounce back at home when they host Baltimore City Community College on January 10 at 5 PM.
