Frederick Drops First Road Contest to Mercer County
Frederick Community College women's basketball traveled to Mercer County Community College on November 15, looking to build momentum early in the season. Despite a determined effort, the Cougars fell 72-41 in a game where slow starts proved costly. Mercer County jumped out to a commanding 21-5 lead in the first quarter, setting the tone with aggressive defense and efficient shooting. Frederick battled back in the second half, scoring 27 points after halftime, but the early deficit was too much to overcome.
Trinity Lindblade led Frederick with 16 points and nine rebounds, showing resilience on both ends of the floor. Maylee Regan added a double-double with 10 points and 12 boards, while Heaven Murray chipped in 12 points and three assists off the bench. The Cougars struggled from the field, shooting just 25.9% overall.
With the loss, Frederick moves to 1-3 on the season. The team will look to bounce back quickly as they hit the road again to face Chesapeake College on November 19 at 5 PM.
