Cougars Challenged by Lackawanna in Home Doubleheader
Frederick Community College Cougars softball battled a tough doubleheader against Lackawanna College at home, falling 10-1 in Game 1 and 6-0 in Game 2.
In the opener, Frederick showed early fight and managed to break through in the third inning when Alyvia Shew delivered an RBI single to score Joelle Staub, but that would be the lone run of the game for the Cougars. Despite collecting six hits, including contributions from Madison Ohler, Leo Cline, and Addison Custer, Frederick struggled to keep pace as the Falcons pulled away late.
Game 2 saw Frederick continue to battle defensively, but the Cougars were held to just four hits in a shutout loss. Leo Cline led the offense with a pair of hits, while Joelle Staub and Ava Yockelson each added one. Raegan Miller went the distance in the circle, striking out five batters and only walking one batter.
Now sitting at 15-13 overall, the Cougars will look to regroup as they prepare to travel to College of Southern Maryland for a Region 20 doubleheader on Saturday, April 18 at 11:00 AM.
