Cougars Explode Offensively in Road Sweep at Anne Arundel

The Frederick Community College Cougars delivered one of their most dominant offensive showings of the season, sweeping a doubleheader on the road against Anne Arundel Community College to improve to 15-11 overall and 10-6 in Region 20 Division II play.

Frederick wasted no time setting the tone in game one, erupting for 10 runs in the opening inning and never looking back in a commanding 23-3 victory. The Cougars piled up 18 hits and showcased depth throughout the lineup, with Madison Ohler, Leo Cline, and Alyvia Shew each driving in multiple runs while Joelle Staub set the table with four runs scored and three RBIs. Alondra Sidock earned the win in the circle, combining with Ava Yockelson to limit the Riverhawks' offense and secure the early run-rule win.

Game two tested Frederick, as the Cougars found themselves trailing after the early innings before responding with a decisive middle-inning surge to pull away for a 14-6 win. After falling behind 6-4, Frederick erupted for five runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by clutch RBI swings from Leo Cline and Daysha Cook to reclaim control. Cline led the offensive charge with three hits and three RBIs, while Ohler continued her strong day at the plate with three more hits. Ava Yockelson added two hits and drove in a pair, and Alyvia Shew chipped in with timely production as the Cougars continued to apply pressure. In the circle, Sidock provided stability in relief, shutting down the Riverhawks over the final five innings to secure the sweep.

Frederick returns home next to face Lackawanna College on Thursday, April 16, for a DH starting at 3PM.
