Frederick Controls the Pace in Home Win Over Baltimore City

Frederick Community College Cougars men's basketball used a dominant first half and steady execution after the break to secure a 70–57 win over Baltimore City Community College Panthers on Saturday afternoon at FCC, improving to 8–6 on the season. The Cougars jumped out early and never relinquished control, setting the tone with defensive intensity and physical play that led to a 36–19 halftime lead.

Frederick's strong start was built on efficiency inside and composure at the free-throw line. Thierry Patchou powered the home side with 20 points and nine rebounds, consistently finishing around the rim and earning trips to the line, while Kylan Johnson matched him with 20 points of his own, going a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw stripe. Baltimore City attempted to mount a response in the second half, but Frederick answered every push by controlling the glass and limiting clean perimeter looks. The Cougars finished with a 44–30 rebounding edge and connected on 76 percent of their free throws, preventing Baltimore City from gaining any sustained momentum down the stretch.

The Cougars return to action on Wednesday, January 14, hosting Central Penn College at FCC with tipoff scheduled for 7 PM.
