Cougars Rally in Second Half to Edge Anne Arundel
Frederick Community College men's basketball earned a hard-fought 73-70 road victory over Anne Arundel Community College Riverhawks on Wednesday night, improving to 5-5 overall and 3-3 in Region 20 Division II play. The Cougars trailed 43-37 at halftime but turned the game around with a strong defensive effort in the second half, outscoring the Riverhawks 36-27 to secure the win.
Kylan Johnson led the way for Frederick with 25 points, including four three-pointers, while Thierry Patchou dominated inside with 20 points and an impressive 16 rebounds for a double-double. Bryson Boyd added nine rebounds to help FCC control the glass, finishing with a 48-33 rebounding advantage. The Cougars also capitalized at the free-throw line, converting 17 of 23 attempts to maintain their edge in a tightly contested matchup.
Frederick will look to build on this momentum when they return home to face Montgomery College on Saturday, December 13 at 2 PM.
