Cougars Battled Hard but Fall Short Against Owls 68-54
The Frederick Community College men's basketball team faced a formidable opponent in Prince George's Community College on Friday, falling 68-54. Despite the loss, the Cougars showcased key performances, including strong showings from Aiden Igwebe and Al-Ameen Sanni, as they continue to grow this season.
The Cougars fought hard throughout the game but struggled to keep pace with PGCC, who capitalized on rebounds and second-chance opportunities. Frederick trailed 32-26 at halftime and could not close the gap in the second half. Igwebe scored a team-high 16 points, including 4-for-6 shooting from beyond the arc and adding five rebounds. Sanni was a dominant presence on the boards for FCC, grabbing a team-best 10 rebounds with seven points.
Bench production was another bright spot for Frederick, with Rooney Joseph adding 10 points on efficient 4-for-6 shooting, including two three-pointers. However, the Cougars were out-rebounded 48-36 and struggled with turnovers, committing 18 compared to the 14.
With the defeat, Frederick's record moves to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play. The Cougars will look to regroup as they prepare to face the Baltimore City Community College Panthers on December 15 at 5 PM.
