Cougars Split High-Scoring Road Twinbill at Shenandoah

The Frederick Community College Cougars baseball put together an explosive offensive showing in game one before settling for a split on the road against Shenandoah University, moving to 22-10 overall.

Frederick erupted for 20 runs in the opener, breaking the game open with big innings in the middle frames. Clayton Dorsey led the charge with a monster performance, driving in seven runs, including a pair of home runs, while Jack Clarke added four RBIs and reached base consistently. Cole Swinimer and William Thomas also went deep as the Cougars tallied 12 hits and took advantage of 13 walks to overwhelm Shenandoah. Despite some inconsistency on the mound, Frederick's offense more than made up for it, turning the game into a decisive 20-8 victory.

Game two told a different story, as Shenandoah capitalized on early scoring opportunities and built a lead that Frederick could not overcome. The Cougars showed flashes offensively, getting RBIs from Andrew Varga, Tysan Gingerich, Jett Burger, and Anthony Pellicone Jr., but were limited to five hits overall. Shenandoah answered with timely hitting and took advantage of control issues from the Cougars' pitching staff to secure the 12-4 win and salvage the split. Frederick now turns its focus back to Region 20 competition as it heads to Westmoreland County Community College for its next doubleheader, looking to carry the offensive momentum from game one into another important conference matchup.
