Offense Stalls As Owls Pick Up Victory In Last At-Bats
LARGO, Md. – The No. 17 Frederick Community College baseball suffered a tough loss on Saturday afternoon as the Prince George's Community College Owls defeated the Cougars by the score of 3-2. With the loss, FCC falls to 27-9 including 8-6 in the conference.
FCC jumped out to an early 2-1 lead after two innings of play highlighted by a Seth Holler solo homer. The Owls would plate a single run in the 5th inning and win the game in their final at-bats pushing across the game winning run in the bottom of the 7th.
Credit FCC starting pitcher Marco Cardone for a solid outing. Cardone pitched five innings giving up just one earned run while punching out 8 batters. David Tiskevics would relieve Cardone and was tagged with the loss. Tiskevics falls to 1-1 on the season.
The Cougars had just four hits and committed three errors in the loss. Jett Manning went 1-for-4 with a double and swiped his 27th stolen base on the season.
