Volleyball Suffers Heartbreaking Loss In Five Sets

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – The Frederick Community College volleyball team traveled up 70 West to take on the Hawks from Hagerstown Community College on Friday night. The Hawks topped the Cougars in five sets in a very competitive match. With the loss, the Cougars drop to 2-2 (2-2 MD JUCO) on the season and HCC improves to 6-1 (3-0 MD JUCO).

Jacqueline Ryan and Devyn Jacobson led the way for FCC. Ryan recorded 12 kills and 10 digs in the loss. Jacobson registered 10 kills and chipped in with nine digs. Teammates Clarisse Diaz and Madison France turned in solid performances as well. Diaz was spectacular on defense with 24 digs and two service aces. France handed out 30 assists (season-high) and recorded 13 digs. Rylind Abshire continues to be a force at the net. She tallied three kills and two solo blocks.

The Cougars will return to the court on Tuesday (9/17) when they play host to Northern Virginia Community College. First serve is set for 7:00 PM.
