FREDERICK, Md. – The calendar reads October 2nd and believe it or not, this is the home opener for the FCC women's soccer team. Their biggest opponent hasn't been who they are playing on the field, but Mother Nature who continues to wreak havoc. A soggy September washed-out a number of regularly scheduled home contests for FCC.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Cougars played host to the Bears from Harcum College. The Bears would find the net twice to defeat the Cougars by a score of 2-0. Mia Mendez and Kameron Melende each scored a goal in the victory for the Bears. With the loss, FCC drops to 1-3 (0-2 MD JUCO) on the year. Harcum College improves to 6-2 on the season.

UP NEXT: FCC will hit the road on Friday afternoon to take on the Seahawks from Cecil College. Game will begin at 3:00 P.M. Follow live stats: http://www.fccathletics.com/sports/wsoc/2018-19/boxscores/20181005_4fwx.xml
