FCC Hires New Women’s Soccer Coach, Will Not Field a Team for 2017 Season

Frederick, Md. -- Frederick Community College has hired Joachim Walker to be its next Head Women's Soccer Coach.

In order to give Walker time to focus on the recruiting process, FCC will not field a team during the Fall 2017 season.

"We are thrilled that Coach Joachim Walker will be leading our women's soccer program," said Director of Athletics Rodney Bennett.  "It was a very difficult decision to not field a team this year, but we know this will benefit the program in the long run and ensure Coach Walker has the time he needs to recruit quality student athletes."

Walker played Division I college soccer as a member of men's team at the George Washington University, where he won a division championship and played in the NCAA tournament. He coaches multiple teams within the Arundel Soccer Association, which are all ranked in the top 20 of teams in Maryland. Walker has also coached at Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn and Mount Saint Joseph High School in Baltimore. He has coached multiple players who have gone on to play Division I college soccer.

Walker holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from The George Washington University and a law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
