FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Community College women's lacrosse team lost its 2018 home opener falling to Genesee Community College by the score of 19-13 on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, FCC falls to 0-1 and GCC improves to 1-1 on the year.
Just 19 seconds into the contest, FCC scored on Lillian McPheeters first goal of the year. She would score her second goal at the 26:08 mark, putting FCC up 2-0 early in the contest. However, GCC would storm back and take a 10-6 lead into halftime.
Four different players would score goals in the opener. FCC's Lillian McPheeters had a strong showing in her debut for the Cougars. The Frederick High product scored a game-high eight goals. Teammate Kelsey Wright chipped in with three goals and two assists. Amira Krolow and Roxanne Hinch each would score a goal. Alijah Gee led FCC with six groundballs.
Molly Barden led the scoring attack for GCC with seven goals in the victory.
In goal for FCC, Kori Payne recorded 15 saves in her first game between the pipes for the Cougars.
UP NEXT: FCC will travel to #4 Anne Arundel (2-0) on Tuesday afternoon. The opening draw is set for 4:00 P.M.
