Cougars' 1-2 Punch Delivers Victory for Women's Basketball Over Cardinals

Banks and Ayers Dominate In Win For FCC!

CATONSVILLE, Md.- FCC's Jone Ayers and Amiah Banks each recorded a double-double as the Cougars defeated CCBC Catonsville by the socre of 67-60. With the victory, FCC improves to 8-6 (7-1 MD JUCO) on the year. CCBC Catonsville drops to 9-8 (5-1 MD JUCO) on the season.

What a game for FCC's Jone Ayers and Amiah Banks. The dynamic duo combined for a total of 51 points and 21 rebounds in the victory. Ayers played all 40 minutes in the contest and tallied 26 points on 9-of-16 from the field. She pulled down a team-high 11 boards and dished out four assists. Banks poured in 25 points on 10-of-21 from the floor and cleaned up on the glass by pulling down 10 rebounds.

The Cougars were in control of the contest from the tip and carried a 38-24 lead into the locker room after 20 minutes of play. The Cardinals would cut the deficit to nine points after the third quarter, but the Cougars would prevail in the end!

Ayers was dialed in from long distance for FCC. She connected on 5-of-7 deep balls beyond the arc. As a team, FCC shot a stellar 11-of-24 (45.8) from 3-point land!

The Cougars will return to the hardwood on 1/23 at AACC. Tip-off is set for 5:00 P.M.
