FCC Rolls Past PGCC, Wins Fifth In A Row

LARGO, Md.- Frederick Community College rolled to its fifth consecutive victory with a 79-40 victory over Prince George's CC on Wednesday night. Amiah Banks finished with a team-high 17 points, six assists, five rebounds, and five assists to lead the Cougars.

With the victory, FCC improves to 6-2 overall, including a perfect 5-0 mark in league play. The Fighting Owls fall to 0-9 on the season.

The Cougars were in control of the contest from the tip. FCC raced out to a 41-20 lead, dominating on both sides of the floor in the first 20 minutes of action. The Cougars turned up the heat on defense, forcing PGCC into 20 miscues in the first half.

Out of the locker room, FCC continued to control the contest. FCC would force PGCC into 31 miscues and held them to just 15-of-81 (18.5%) field goals on the night.

The starting five for FCC Head Coach Henry's team each posted double figures on the night. Banks led with 17 points. Nia Powell continues to dominate in the paint. She recorded a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Powell also swatted eight shots on the night. Quite a stat line for Powell! Jone Ayers chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds. Darlene King and Augusta Kamara each scored 10 points.

The Cougars will take some well-deserved time off and return to the hardwood on December 27 when they take on Tallahassee Community College as part of the NATIONAL TITLE IX HOLIDAY INVITATIONAL CLASSIC at the D.C. Armory. Tip-off is set for 3:30 P.M.
