FREDERICK, Md. – The Frederick Community College women's basketball team won its second game in as many days on Wednesday night by defeating MD JUCO opponenet Anne Arundel Community College. The Cougars clipped the Riverhawks by the score of 74-47. With the victory, FCC improves to 7-4 (2-2 MD JUCO). AACC drops to 5-4 (2-1 MD JUCO) on the season.
The first quarter was a defensive battle as the Cougars and Riverhawks ended the first period with the score of 11-11. The tempo picked in the second quarter for FCC outscoring AACC 21-9. FCC would take a 32-20 lead into halftime, however, not before a half-court shot as the clock expired made by Daja Burnett of Anne Arundel to bring the crowd to thier feet!

The one-two punch of Aniss Grant and Dajah Gee was too much for the Riverhawks. Grant and Gee both poured in 17 points each to seal the victory for FCC. Dajah Gee had quite a night on Tuesday as she socred a career-high 45 points. She tallied 62 points in the two victories for the Cougars! FCC forced AACC into 29 turnovers and held the Riverhawks to just 27.6% shooting from the field.
FCC will travel Niagara County Community College this weekend to take part in the Thunderwolves Classic. On Saturday (12/16) FCC will take on Niagara County Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 P.M. The Cougars will return to the hardwood on Sunday (12/17) as they square off against Genesee Community College. Tip time is set for 12:00 P.M.
