Rockville, Md. - The Frederick Community College women's basketball team made it a clean sweep at the Montgomery College Tip-Off Tourney this weekend. On Sunday, FCC defeated Morton College by the score of 53-38. With the victory, the Cougars improve to 3-1 on the season.
Morgan Mitchell paced the Cougars with 11 points and recorded six swipes in the victory. Teammates Dajah Gee and Jone Ayers also played a key role to secure the victory. Gee chipped in with nine points and pulled down five rebounds. Ayers scored eight points, hauled down eight rebounds, and recorded a game-high seven steals, to fill up the stat sheet.
The Cougars continue to play lockdown defense as they forced the Panthers into 38 miscues and held them to just 34.9% (15-of-43) shooting from the field.
FCC will return the court on Wednesday (11/15) when they travel back to Montgomery College to open up MD JUCO conference play. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 P.M.
