FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Community College women's basketball team defeated Rowan County of Burlington Saturday night in the FCC Tip-Off Tournament by a final score of, 75-66. The contest served as the home opener for the Lady Cougars. FCC sits at 1-0 on the young season and will battle CCRI on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 PM in the championship game of the tourney.
Sophomore Dajah Gee got off to a hot start, scoring eight points in the first quarter and four early points in the second quarter, before being sidelined with an ankle injury for the rest of the game. The Lady Cougars rallied to take the lead going in to halftime, and ultimately win the game. The team was led by freshmen Jone Ayers (22 points) and Morgan Mitchell (17 points).
