Softball announces hiring of two assistant coaches

First-year FCC softball head coach Chris Davis announced the addition of assistant coaches Darrick Scott Sr. and Teresa "Terry" Scott to round out his inaugural staff heading into the 2019 season.

"I'm very excited to add Coach Darrick and Coach Terry Scott to my coaching staff and our program," Davis said. "It was very important for me to find assistants that share the same values and vision, along with a solid work ethic. In addition, they are passionate and knowledgeable about the game, truly enjoy developing student-athletes on and off the field, and have been around a winning culture."

Darrick Scott Sr. has been an assistant coach at FCC since the spring of 2012. Prior to coaching at FCC, he was the Head Coach at Governor Thomas Johnson High School for two years.  He also served as Head Coach of Maryland Mystics Softball 16U/18U for 6 years.

The spring 2019 season will be Teresa (Terry) Scott's first year being an assistant coach at FCC, however, she is not a stranger to the sport of softball. Coach Scott was the founder and director of the Maryland Mystics softball program as she wore several hats which included Head Coach during the 11 years of the programs for ages 10U through 18U. She was also an assistant coach at Governor Thomas Johnson High School for four years from 2009 -2012.

FCC will take the field for the first time in 2019 when they travel to Myrtle Beach, SC, on March 1st. The Cougars will take on Bryant & Stratton College (WI). A complete listing of the 2019 FCC schedule can be viewed here:
