Softball Comeback Falls Short in 6-5 Loss to CSM

FREDERICK, Md. – The Frederick Community College softball team come back in the seventh inning came up just short, as they fell 6-5 to College of Southern Maryland on Wednesday. The Cougars scored five runs in the failed comeback on a home run by Cassidy-Thanh Lee-Dinh, an error, and a double by Katie Shugars.

Lindsey Wood was the winning pitcher for the Hawks. She surrendered five runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out two.

Ashley Bentley took the loss in the circle for FCC. She gave up six runs on 15 hits over seven innings, striking out eight. Bentley drops to 5-8 on the season.

FCC collected eight hits on the day. Shugars went 3-for-4 (2 2B) at the plate. Katlyn Davis and Cassidy-Thanh Lee-Dinh each had two hits.
