Men’s soccer falls at CCBC Essex in waning seconds

BALTIMORE, Maryland – The Frederick Community College men's soccer team lost a close match Tuesday on the road at #19 CCBC Essex by the score of 3-2. With the loss, FCC holds an overall record of 11-3 (10-2 MD JUCO) overall.

The Cougars jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to a pair of goals by Vagner Marques-Rodriguez. He found the back of the net in each half and the Cougars were in control of the match with just 10 minutes to go.

This is when a huge momentum swing would shift to the Knights. They would tie the contest up with two goals by Marvin Martinez (Wilfred Tinay) and Rin Yasui (Sam Adunah) in the 81st and 83rd minute.

It looked as if the match would be heading to overtime. With just 10 seconds left in regulation, the Knight took control of the ball and Acolmi Rios (Rin Yasui) would knock in the go-ahead goal to seal it for the Knights.
