NORTH EAST, Md. – The FCC men's soccer team and Head Coach John LaRocca had a pretty sweet week. On Monday, the Cougars defeated Northern Virginia Community College by the score of 5-1. On Tuesday, FCC cracked the NJCAA Division I national rankings by receiving votes. They topped off the week with a convincing 8-1 victory over Cecil College. In the last three games, FCC has outscored their opponents 21-2. With the victory, FCC improves to 7-1 (5-1 MD JUCO) overall on the season and extend their winning streak to three games. The Seahawks fall to 1-8 on the year.
FCC freshman Carlos Guevera is on a tear and continues to find the back of the net. Guevera scored three goals in the victory over the Seahawks. He nows has eight goals on the season. Divin Founga Gouma, Cameron Barnes, Kenny Simms, Jonatan Andrade, and Vagner Marques-Rodriguez each scored a goal for FCC.
The Cougars took a 3-0 lead into the break and exploded for five more goals in the second half. The FCC offense continues to dominate! The Cougars rank #1 in NJCAA Division I in goals scored per game at 5.38.
"Glad we could get a win on the road," said FCC Head Coach, John LaRocca. "We are scoring in a variety of different ways, and excited to see number one in the nation in goals per game. It's been a lot of work to get to this point and I am excited for the test against PGCC this Monday."
UP NEXT: FCC will return to the pitch on Monday (10/8) when they host Prince George's Community College. The game is slated to start at 4:00 P.M.
