Hampton, Virginia – Coming off a tough loss on Friday night, the FCC men's basketball team had a quick turnaround as they hit the hardwood early Saturday afternoon to take on Thomas Nelson Community College. The game was played at Bethel High School Allen Iverson Gymnasium, officially renamed by Hampton City Schools in honor of their most accomplished former player, who averaged 26.7 points per game in a 12-year NBA career. The Cougars defeated the Gators by the score of 92-88 in overtime. With the win, FCC sits at 8-3 overall on the season.
The Cougars trailed 46-42 at the half then it was Juwan Burnett time! The sophomore standout had himself quite a game as he finished the contest with 30 points, including six made 3-pointers. Teammate AJ Gregory chipped in with 13 points, all in the first half. The smooth southpaw stroke of CJ Williams continues to hit double digit scoring as he poured in 11 points. Freshman forward Bajon Bihai was a force in the middle and added 10 points in the win.
