BALTIMORE, Md. – Little rest for the No. 18 FCC men's basketball team as they returned to the court on Sunday afternoon, taking on Northern Virginia CC as part of the Ben Williams Classic, hosted by Baltimore City Community College. The Cougars defeated the Nighthawks by the score of 84-74 to extend their win streak to nine games. FCC sits at 11-1 overall as NOVA drops to 3-9 on the season.
David Garey turned in a strong performance once again for the Cougars. He poured in 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field in 30 minutes of action. Garey also dished out seven assists in the win. Teammate Corey Barnett chipped in with 12 points and pulled down five rebounds. CJ Williams made the most of his oppurtunity of his playing time by connecting on 3-of-5 shots from the field and ended up with 11 points. Chris Knight scored 10 points on 4-of-6 FGs and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds in 15 minutes of action. Each Cougar on the roster scored in the win to cap off a perfect weekend!
The Cougars will return to the hardwood on Wednesday (12/12) when they travel to Prince George's CC to take on the Fighting Owls. Tip-off is set for 7:00 P.M.
