Five players register double figures in victory over Trojans!
FREDERICK, Md. – Ben Meredith led FCC with 18 points as the Cougars defeated Allegany College of Maryland on Tuesday night by the score of 91-78. With the victory, the Cougars extend their win streak to four and sit at 6-1 (2-0 MD JUCO) overall on the season.
The Trojans (3-2 overall, 1-1 MD JUCO) would not go away quietly. FCC built a 22 point lead in the first half, however, ACM would put a run together in the second half and cut the lead to eight. In the end, FCC would prevail with the 13-point victory.
FCC point guard David Garey continues to quarterback the high-power offense for Head Coach Emonte Hill. Garey was stellar on both ends of the court in the victory over the Trojans as he tallied the following stat line: 16 points, five assists, five rebounds, and five steals. Juwan Burnett was strong off the bench for FCC as he finished with 17 points, including a slam dunk that brought the crowd to their feet in the first half. Dwayne Garner showed off his offensive arsenal by draining jumpers from beyond the arc and dominated around the basket, finishing with 16 points and seven rebounds. Corey Barnett finished with 11 points and dished out five assists.
Demarcus Demonia had a game-high 24 points to lead the Trojans. He caught fire in the second half and knocked down some deep three-point shots.
The Cougars will enjoy a couple of days off and return to the hardwood on 11/28 when they travel to College of Southern Maryland. Tip-off is set for 7:00 P.M.
