Cougars Hold Off Owls for 12th Straight Win

FREDERICK, Md. – The No. 10 Frederick Community College men's basketball team extended its winning streak to 12 games with a 72-66 victory over Prince George's Community College. FCC improves to 17-2 (8-1 MD JUCO) on the season. The Owls fall to 13-8 (4-5 MD JUCO).

A win is a win no matter how you earn it and FCC Head Coach Emonte Hill and the men's basketball squad will take it! The Cougars clawed their way to victory over the Owls in a grind it out game! The Cougars took a 35-25 into the locker room after the first 20 minutes of play. Out of the locker room, the Owls came out firing and cut the lead to 57-54 with just six minutes to go.

The Cougars were led by Keon Claiborne who poured in a game-high 15 points. The most important stat of the game for Claiborne was a perfect 9-of-9 from the charity stripe as he knocked down some important free throws to seal the victory for FCC. Marlon White Jr. chipped in with 13 points while Morris Robinson added 11 points. Dwayne Garner came up big when his number was called by registering a double-double. Garner went for 11 points and cleaned up on the glass with 11 boards.

FCC will return to the court on Saturday when they hit the road for a crucial Region XX D2 matchup against Cecil College. Tip-off is set for 3:00 P.M.
