- The Frederick Community College baseball team got a pair of outstanding pitching performance in Saturday's doubleheader on the road at CCBC Essex. The Knights took game 1-0 and the Cougars bounced back to win the second game by the score of 8-2.

Game One

What an outstanding pitching duel in the between FCC's Brayden Coe and Patrick Barrett of CCBC Essex. The Knights would score the lone run in the bottom of the second after two outs were recorded in the inning. A double by Robert Leon was followed up by a single off the bat of Armando Prieto and that is all Barrett would need. Barrett carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning and was just two outs away from the rare accomplishment. Brandon Austin would break up the no-no with a liner to left field. He would record the complete game shutout and fanned nine in the win. FCC's Brayden Coe (6-1) suffers the tough loss. Coe tossed a complete game and gave up just three hits. He struck out eight batters and did not allow a free pass.

The bats woke up in the nightcap as the Cougars scored in four out of the seven innings pounding out eight hits in the win. Priamo Lozada led the way with three hits and continues to tattoo the baseball. Lozada has been seeing the ball very well at the dish. He is batting .424 on the year and is 14-for-27 over the last seven games. Jacob Berry went 1-for-2 and knocked in a pair of teammates.

Brad Foster was clutch and stepped up big time. The southpaw pitched six innings and gave up just one earned run. He fanned five batters and did not allow any free passes. Foster improves to 6-2 on the year. Max Proctor came out of the bullpen to record the final three outs.
