FREDERICK, Md. – Frederick Community College sophomore shortstop Jett Manning was named third-team All-American by the NJCAA Division II Baseball Committee on Tuesday afternoon.

Manning turned in a stellar career for the Cougars shining offensively and defensively. He tallied a total of 131 hits in two seasons while knocking in 77 RBIs. Additionally, Manning led his team in batting average each season and led in nearly every offensive category. This season he slugged 23 doubles and posted an astonishing .542 OBP.  

Manning inked his name in the records books this past season by swiping 33 stolen bases. The single-season record was previously held by Chris Mattison (21, 2015). Additionally, Manning hit four homers this season and this year's team tied the single season team home run record with 44 blasts. He will play next year at the University of Alabama.

FCC finished the 2017 season with a record of 39-16 including 12-4 in NJCAA Region XX D2 competition. The Cougars concluded their 2017 season in the championship game of the Region XX Tourney.
