FCC W Lax Standout Commits To University of Montevallo

FREDERICK, Md. - Linda Silva, a Frederick Community College 2018 graduate, has committed to NCAA Division II, University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama.

Linda graduated from high school in New Mexico, but had previously attended and played lacrosse at Frederick High School. She started in 11 out of 12 games in 2018, collecting 11 ground balls, 1 draw control and 2 caused turnovers as a defender for the Cougars. Silva served as Co-Captain this season for FCC.

Linda was a standout student-athlete who excelled academically and was consistently on the Dean's list. Furthermore she served as the SGA Vice-President and was involved with the Multicultural Center.

Silva joins former FCC standout Sydny Dudley who is also advancing to Montevallo for the 2019 season.

FCC Alumni currently playing in NCAA/NAIA action: Leslie Lewis, (DI West Point), Meaghan Smith, (DII Tusculum University), Megan Dusci (DII Shepherd University), and Mary Reich (NAIA Keiser University).
