FCC Director of Athletics to Return to Academic Advisor Role

FREDERICK, MD. - Frederick Community College Director of Athletics Rodney Bennett has asked to return to his academic advisor role.

Bennett has served FCC since 2002 in these roles:

-          15 years as Head Baseball Coach

-          7 years in Admissions and Academic Advising

-          4 years as the Director of Athletics

"I approached FCC administration to request that I return to my academic advisor role at FCC," Rodney Bennett said. "I have enjoyed my years as Director of Athletics, but would like to return to more direct contact with students."

Bennett has long expressed how much he enjoyed his time as an academic advisor, when he was able to get to know most students by their first and last names. As an advisor, he also appreciated having a direct impact on students' academic progress and degree completion.

Bennett will continue in his roles as FCC Head Baseball Coach and Baseball Field Coordinator.

President Burmaster thanked Rodney for his years of dedication to the academic and athletic success of all our student athletes during his time as Director of Athletics.

"We are excited Rodney has this opportunity to return to a position he loved and know he will continue to positively impact students in his role as academic advisor and baseball coach," President Burmaster said.

The College will post the opening for the Director of Athletics position in the near future. Rodney Bennett will continue to serve as Director of Athletics until the position is filled.
